FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 2004 Business Coach Offers Business Success Seminar at WOW ConferenceBusiness Coach Maria Marsala is offering a seminar on designing a successful business at the Women of Wisdom Conference on February 14, 2004, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. The workshop - "Business Success Through Spirit and Vision" - is based on the One Page Business Plan® process, and is designed for both new business owners or established business owners. "Most people have heard it said that 'if you don't have a vision, you won't get where you're going,'" says Marsala. "The One Page Business Plan® helps people get focused, figure out if they really want to start a business, and provides a way to check daily to see if they're on track. Unfortunately, many new businesses don't succeed due to inadequate planning." The first step is defining a business's vision. "A clear vision is so important," Marsala says. "Some research shows that companies with a vision were twice as profitable as the S&P 500, and their stock price grew nearly three times the rate of the S&P 500. Isn't that a great motivator? And, Marsala says, many people have several misconceptions about business plans. "The first one is that they don't need a business plan if they're not seeking funding, if they're using their own funds. " She laughs. "You could make the case that when your own money is at risk, it's even more critical that you do plan." Another misconception is that the plan needs to be a 25-page document for funding. "People think they need lots of charts & graphs," she says, "but it's really about planning. Even those who are seeking funding for their business venture (and need a much larger plan) save themselves lots of time in the long run, create clarity and focus. I have clients who complete the One Page Business Plan® and get their business going in a month." And once the plan is complete, it doesn't just go on the shelf and get dusty. "A good business plan is also a marketing plan, and is used often if not daily by business owners as a planning tool. I so strongly believe in plans that once my clients complete theirs, I send them a frame to put them!" chuckles Marsala. Marsala, a business and life coach and trainer, draws on her Wall Street business experience , 6 years as small business owner nationwide and is a third generation small business owner. She has a proven track record of helping business owners quickly increase their bottom line and improve customer service. A prolific writer and speaker, Marsala has authored more than 200 articles and e-books published all over the world, and has been interviewed on TV & radio stations across the country. Participants in this One Page Business Plan® seminar will create the foundation for their business plan - their vision and mission statements - and then also define their objectives, strategies and plans. For those who wish to move their planning beyond the workshop, Marsala offers TeleSeminars, workshops at various locations around the sound, and individual consultation on topics such as Pricing & Packaging Services, Target Markets, Elevator Speech, and Unique Selling Proposition.
