POULSBO, WA -- Maria Marsala of Maria's Place, a business coaching and consulting service, has been selected as a featured Biz Profile on Business Owners Idea Cafe, a top-rated small business website, for her outstanding business story.
Out of the thousands of businesses that visit the site, fewer than one in ten are selected for a Biz Profile Spotlight. Biz Profile submissions are judged on the quality of the owner's personal business insights; advice and tips for others starting a business; and unique business tales.
Marsala is a proud native New Yorker, who from Brooklyn and Staten Island launched her first career as a Wall Street Executive. She's started Maria's Place in 1998, a few years after a serious car accident made her re-evaluate what she was going to do with her life. While reading an article on coaching during her recovery, she says, "It was like a bolt of lightening came right out of the newspaper. I knew exactly what business I'd start!" She hired her first coach, started coaching school and established her coaching and consulting business. She has been helping others achieve their business, career and personal goals ever since. Maria has a national business and works virtually with her clients - by phone, email, chat rooms and fax.
In 1999 she moved to Washington State, a place she'd visited years before and had fallen in love with the "atmosphere" in the Pacific Northwest. After her move she realized that she's truly bi-coastal "home is really two places" Washington State and New York City. She now uses this opportunity to lectures across the country when she drives across to New York City each year.
Since 2000, Maria has been the monthly "Online Review" columnist for the New Times Magazine, http://www.newtimes.org published in Seattle, WA. Marsala is the author of more than 150 articles; many of which have been published in magazines and newspapers as far away as the United Kingdom and Australia.
Over 1900 individuals from more than 22 countries receive her free online newsletter. She hopes to someday create "themed retreats" to bring people together to create either their business foundations or life plans.
